DISABILITIES AND CHRONIC ILLNESS

Your body may be stuck in a constant fight-or-flight state—a natural response to ongoing pain and isolation.

One of the most important steps you can take to help you understand and deal with the far-ranging effects of disabilities and chronic illness is to seek mental health support.

Depression and anxiety are common companions to chronic illness and fatigue. The shift into a new way of living can be overwhelming—especially when so much of what you experience is invisible to others. Pain, exhaustion, uncertainty about the future, and financial stress can take a deep emotional toll.

Together, we can:

  • Explore your emotions and beliefs about your health and identity.

  • Develop coping skills to manage physical and emotional challenges.

  • Process grief, loss, and change.

  • Build self-advocacy and confidence in your healing journey.

Your body’s constant “fight or flight” response is a natural reaction to pain and isolation—but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

Through a mind-body approach, we can reduce trauma and pain responses while building new pathways of resilience. Having navigated my own transition from able-bodied to disabled, I bring both personal understanding and professional experience to our work as I live with connective tissue disorders (EDS), MS, POTS, MCAS, chronic illness, pain and fatigue. My goal is to help you cultivate strength, acceptance, and self-compassion as you move toward healing.
